Backing up to June before leaving for the Sudan, I took an important trip to
California where Kate trained at Calearth on how to build the environmentally
friendly houses for the desert. Here is an example of one of the houses that
look surprisingly like some of the domes that are found in the Sudan.
Having arrived on a Thursday night in Khartoum, and since Friday (equivilant
to our Sundays) no one works, I took a little side trip to view Nubian wresting
in the North of Khartoum.
Quite a sight.
